Nitrous oxide · Coming soon

Nitrous oxide, learned online and signed off at your office

An online course on nitrous oxide sedation, then supervised practice with patients at your own office, signed off by your dentist. For hygienists, and for dental assistants in states that allow it.
Example of how the course will work: a five-minute lesson on a phone, then a supervised case at your office that your dentist signs off.

How it will work

  1. Step 1

    Learn online

Short lessons on the science, safety and steps of nitrous oxide sedation, with a test at the end.

  2. Step 2

    Practice at your office

Give or monitor nitrous oxide for your own patients while your dentist observes.

  3. Step 3

    Get signed off

Your dentist signs off each supervised case. The record stays with you.

What it will cover

  • Pain and anxiety management
  • Respiratory anatomy and physiology
  • Nitrous oxide pharmacology
  • Assessment before sedation, and who shouldn't have it
  • Equipment, setup and administration
  • Monitoring, complications and emergencies
  • Recovery and documentation
